DUI in the Navy DEP pool. Should I drop myself or wait to see what they say?

I have just recently got a DUI while I am on DEP status. I was just wondering if it would be better to stay in the DEP pool and possibly get a DEP discharge (which could make me wait up to a year to reenlist) or drop out on my own accord and sign back up in 90 days? My recruiter thinks I will get a DEP discharge and thinks I should drop on my own and then resign stating I did not get my DUI in DEP status. Any help would be great. Thank you.
