Is the "war on terror" making it worse?

The war on terror is the government exercising and expanding their dominance. Some citizens support that and believe the dominance extends to them I do not. I am a pacifist as an individual and as a citizen demand a defensive posture from my government. War is an institution, an industry, a culture and full of traditions. "The war on terror" is a slug line. Stateless militant terrorist action should be pursued but it's a justice response to a crime - NOT a military engagement. That's the nature of government - to seize power wherever possible. The war on terror is a blank check that provides uncle sam flexibility to do his stuff.
