Are religious radicals the gravest threat to our open society?

The threat of religious fundamentalists is against intellectual rigor and evidence. When a group defies evidence, there is little that can be done to defy their a-priori umptions. They proclaim ignorance as a goal in itself. Fortunately those with the cognitive abilities to discern truth can't be trapped by their absence of sound logical principles.
