How do we use Natinal Rail services on oyster for london city ?

i mean for me its hard to undrstand the National rail service .........compared to other tube lines in london underground.......whats the frequency of the trains on NR ......what are the limitastions of traveling in london.....limitastions for traveling in National Railways for Oyster card holder's etc........ etc...............
