Is my 2 year old delayed? Help please!?

I need some help from all your mothers out there. I'm having a hard time with comparing my child's progression to others. He turns 2 next month and compared to my friend's children I feel like he isn't as "smart" or progressed as them in his learning. He only says a few words like "mom, dad, bite, kitty, cow, night night" and a few names. He doesn't tell me what he wants he just points or grabs my hand and takes me to what he wants. He's very good in the sense that he I understand what he wants and he understands when I say "go get your drink, go get your stuffed animal, etc" but I just don't know what to do or if this is normal. Also he still has his pacifier, he is absolutely devastated if he doesn't have it, he doesn't have to have it at all times but a majority, is this normal or could it possibly be delaying his speech? Thanks!
